Getting Started with Cloth Nappies - Q&A Part 3

We’re answering your most frequently asked questions.  Check out the video below or scroll down to read a summary if you prefer.

What is a dry pail?

It literally means an empty bucket or washing basket etc with nothing in it!  Ideally with holes for air flow. No water or bleach etc.

Why don’t you soak nappies anymore?

Our parents used the big white squares with safety pins and they soaked them.  But now, it’s unnecessary.  That’s the short version!  But also because a lot of the products that you would use can damage the elastics on your nappies.  If you’ve got a good wash routine, you shouldn’t need to.

What can I use as a stain remover?

If you have a good wash routine you likely won’t need anything, but if you do, we recommend the Figgy & Co coconut bar soap stain remover which you can get on our website, as it’s all natural and NZ made.
